5. How did you attract/address your audience?

Use of language -
I attracted my audience by using words like ‘EXCLUSIVE’ and ‘WIN’ in capitol letters. The capitol letters made it stand out and the words themselves helped to attract the audience. The word ‘Exclusive’ would make readers think that my magazine was the only one where you would find out about that particular issue. I used the word ‘Win’, in capitols above what the audience could win, so they had some information about it, however I did not explain how they could win the tickets on the front cover because then the readers would want to read the magazine to find out how themselves.

Content –
The content I included would make my target audience want to buy this magazine because I included things would attract them, such as tour news and reviews on their favourite bands.

Images –
In the images I took, I got the models to wear things that would attract the right audience, such as skinny jeans and converse. I also got the model for the front cover to look at the camera, so as to make the audience feel more connected to the artist and the magazine. Some of the other photos I took were of a band during a performance, this is because my target audience are the sort of people who like going to gigs and if they see that there are images from them they are more likely to buy and read the magazine.

Layout -
When thinking about the layout for my magazine I looked at other similar magazines like NME and Kerrang, I found that that most magazines layouts follow the same trends, so I did something similar to those layouts so as to follow the codes and conventions of real music magazines.
